Import NotebookLM Flashcards into MindFlash
MindFlash is the offline flashcard app built to be the second app in a NotebookLM study workflow. NotebookLM is a creation engine — it generates flashcards from your sources. MindFlash is a retention engine — it imports those cards and runs them through a spaced-repetition scheduler so the cards you study today are the cards you remember at exam time.

The hand-off
NotebookLM web exports flashcards as a standard two-column CSV file:
• Column A: question
• Column B: answer
• No header row
• Fields are quoted per RFC 4180 when they contain commas or newlines
MindFlash reads this format directly. No transformation step.
Step-by-step
1. Open NotebookLM web at notebooklm.google.com in a desktop browser.
2. Open the notebook with the material you want to study.
3. Generate flashcards for the notebook.
4. Export the flashcards as CSV. The exact export UI may change as Google updates NotebookLM, but the underlying two-column CSV format is stable.
5. Transfer the CSV to your Android phone. Options: Quick Share from your PC, attach to email, drop into Google Drive then download, or USB transfer.
6. Open MindFlash on your phone.
7. Tap Import in the deck library.
8. Select the CSV file from your device storage.
9. Review the preview — MindFlash shows the first 5 cards.
10. Tap Confirm. The cards are in your daily review queue, scheduled by FSRS.
End-to-end: under a minute.
What if the export format changes?
The two-column CSV is the format NotebookLM web has shipped since launch. If the export changes, MindFlash's preview screen surfaces the parse error and points to the offending row. Re-save the file in a spreadsheet as a two-column CSV with no header, and re-import.
Anki and Quizlet
Both Anki and Quizlet support CSV export. Export your deck as a two-column CSV with no header, then follow the same flow. You may need to re-order the columns if the source tool exports with a header row.
The two-app workflow
NotebookLM creates. MindFlash remembers. The cards you study every day in MindFlash are the cards you remember at exam time. The workflow:
1. Create a notebook in NotebookLM from your sources (PDFs, Google Docs, YouTube transcripts, websites).
2. Generate audio overview, video summary, briefing doc, mind map, and flashcards.
3. Export the flashcards as CSV.
4. Import into MindFlash.
5. Review every day for 30 days until your exam.
MindFlash is the second app. The one that NotebookLM users cannot delete.
